Each year the Committee on Jewish Law and Standards (CJLS) passes responsa that affect the practice of our communities. In this session our colleague and Chair of the CJLS Pamela Barmash will offer a review of the various responsa that were approved over the past year. Responsa to be discussed include (but are not limited to): "The Meatless Menu", "Giving a Get to a Meshumedet", and "Medical and Recreational Cannabis Usage". Additionally, Pamela will explain the nuts and bolts of the CJLS, the process for submitting a question, and opportunities for writing responsa.
