Speaking with Moral Clarity: How to Keep Your Integrity, Your Dignity, and Your Job

Wednesday, August 27th at 1:00 pm ET / 10:00 am PT / 8:00 pm Israel

Neither prophet nor priest, modern rabbis are tasked with splitting the difference: channel our “Divine Pathos” (Heschel) into a call for systemic change, while simultaneously serving the status quo. Balancing these two roles can feel both daunting and dissonant, especially as the Yamim Noraim approach, regardless of rabbinic role.

So, how can we use our moral voices authentically, without alienating our people or risking our jobs? In this working session we’ll explore a structured framework for navigating these complexities in our communities, gaining tools to foster constructive dialogue, communal trust, and pluralism. Led by our colleague Elan Babchuck – Executive Vice President of Clal, participants will gain practical tools, strategies, and insights to prepare our teaching, our communities, and ourselves for the coming hagim.
