Since ownership of hameitz (bread and other leavened products) is not allowed during Pesah, ideally all hameitz in one's possession would be given away or destroyed before the holiday begins. Since this often represents a financial hardship, the practice arose for people to store away their hameitz before Pesah and arrange to sell it for the duration of the holiday. By filling out the form below, you are appointing Rabbi Schwartz to arrange the sale on your behalf.
Please note that this form should only be used by those in the Eastern Time zone or time zones to the West of that. Grocery store owners and other businesses that will be open over Pesah should not fill out the form below, but should email Rabbi Mordy Schwartz to arrange for the sale.
By clicking on the submit button below, I/we hereby authorize Rabbi Mordy Schwartz to act as my/our agent in the sale of all hameitz that may be in my/our possession wherever it may be - whether at home, at a place of business, or elsewhere - in accordance with the requirements of Jewish law. All hameitz in my/our possession that will not be consumed by the latest time for eating hametz on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 will be stored and sealed by the latest time for burning hametz on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 and will remain stored away for the duration of Pesah.
Note: This form will not be available after 12:00 PM ET on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
