Hadar is excited to offer a workshop sharing an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek at the making of Devash magazine, Hadar's new parashah magazine for children and families. Participants will learn about the production process, gain a better understanding of the goals of each section of the magazine (including midrash, commentary, trope, Hebrew etc.), and get valuable suggestions on how to use the different parts of the magazine in synagogues, religious schools, and day schools. The workshop will provide the opportunity to connect with fellow clergy and educators as we strategize this year’s parashah learning.
Devash is a NEW weekly parashah magazine for children and families that makes Torah learning sweet. By engaging directly with texts and taking kids seriously as Jews, Devash helps children and grownups discover new ideas, values, and sweet morsels in the weekly Torah portion. Devash launches with Parashat Bereishit. Copies will be available by mail as well as electronically over the course of the 5782 Torah reading cycle. Bulk orders are available for synagogues and schools. You can see the first issue of the magazine here.
