Emily Neyor, Director of Career Services, JD

Ms. Neyor has been with the Rabbinical Assembly since 2014. She has been working in the Career Center for 8 years and has a passion for helping people find fulfilling work. She is a Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP), and also holds a certification in salary negotiation. She received a B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Sociology from the University of Florida. She went on to Brooklyn Law School, where she received her J.D. in 2013, was admitted to the New York and New Jersey Bars and practiced civil defense litigation before joining the RA Staff. She loves fitness, taught spinning for 12 years, and has a side business styling and braiding hair.

Rabbi Ilana Garber, Director of Global Rabbinic Development

Rabbi Ilana Garber graduated from the Double Degree program of List College (Talmud) and Barnard College (Religion) in 2000, and received her MA from the Wm. Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education in 2003. She was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2005, and immediately became an active volunteer in our RA (co-chair of Women’s Committee, served on Nominations Committee, Convention Committee, Zera’im: Seeds of our Future) while serving as Rabbi and Rabbinic Director of Lifelong Learning & Community Engagement at Beth El Temple (West Hartford, CT) from 2005-2020. A visionary Jewish educator, she created SULAM (Seek, Understand, Learn, Act, Marvel) in a complete overhaul of Beth El Temple’s religious school. Passionate about the mikveh, she wrote the curriculum to train mikveh guides for Boston’s Mayyim Hayyim: Living Waters Community Mikveh. Currently she serves on the boards of Greater Hartford’s Mikveh Bess Israel and the Hartford Region’s Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Ms. Block Gordon joined USCJ in 2011. In addition to her role as the USCJ staff person on the PCRS, she is the Synagogue Consultant for the Central District and also serves as the USCJ Dispute Resolution coordinator. She graduated from Tufts University and The University of Chicago Law School and attended The Hebrew University of Jerusalem for one year. She is a product of the Conservative Movement and a lifelong member of N.S.S. Beth El in Highland Park, IL. She was an active USYer, went on USY Israel Pilgrimage and was a camper and staff member at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin. She practiced law for many years before working for USCJ, and was an active volunteer, serving as the President of the Metropolitan Chicago Region of ORT America and on the ORT America National Board. She also served for many years on the Executive Board of Camp Ramah in Wisconsin.
