On the ordination of CA members as rabbis from AJR via their Cantor to Rabbi ordination program, the committee recommends not waiving outright the requirement of three years of rabbinic service and experience post-ordination, but reserving the right to waive the requirement in cases where it is deemed appropriate.
We will add two questions to the initial screening:
- In which ways has your role expanded beyond traditional cantorial duties?
- Why did you decide to pursue rabbinic ordination?
